Hoyles Electronic Developments specialises in the design and manufacture of electronic fire, safety and security equipment.
Originally founded in 1965 by Jack Hoyle, an ex-fireman, Hoyles Electronics is a family owned business now being run by the third generation. Here at Hoyles we pride ourselves on providing a level of services and customer care that is second to none, ensuring that customer requirements are fully met in all aspects. This is reinforced by our IS0 9001 certification that we have held since 1994.
We have established a reputation for designing innovative niche market products, and generally as a provider of solutions for the security, fire and safety industries. Many products are now industry standards and are specified by end-users for inclusion in their systems.
Largely supplying to security installers and fire protection companies throughout the UK, Hoyles now exports 15% of the company's business to the EC and Middle East. All products are designed and manufactured at our UK-based factory.

Following the installation of the DorWatcher alarms at Queen Mary University of London, John Allum, Buildings Manager, says, “With regard to results, I can say that there has been a dramatic reduction in the number of unwanted fire alarms and that London Fire Brigade are happy with progress made.”
“We have been very happy with the DorWatcher alarms….we have experienced approximately 60% reduction in fire alarms since their installation.”
Matt Cartwright Hall Manager at City University, London
Swansea University Head of Residential Services, Gareth Atkinson, says “We can confidently state that the DorWatcher alarms have drastically reduced the number of occasions when we find kitchen fire doors propped open; this is very reassuring to us and we have had very positive comments from the Fire Service about the DorWatcher. We spent a considerable amount of last year’s safety budget on the DorWatcher units and are pleased that this decision has been vindicated.”
“I had recently been tasked with the job of finding a DDA compliant disabled toilet alarm for our premises. I came across the Hoyles Aidalarm kit on the web. I was really impressed that it not only included everything I needed to comply with BS8300 but also included a user instruction label with Braille text. The kit was easy to install and was delivered very quickly, I would definitely look to Hoyles on future projects."
Geoff Powell, Director, Tail Lift Engineering
“Products – very good; customer service – Excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff – they will always go the extra mile."
