Informex is produced in conjunction with SOCMA, and the event brings significant value both to SOCMA and its members. It is the global meeting place to efficiently showcase, as well as learn about, the capabilities of high-value, high-quality fine, specialty and custom chemical manufacturers, from pilot to commercial scale.

New product development is increasingly a collaboration between suppliers and manufacturers. A major goal of the show is to match exhibiting companies with a highly qualified attending audience and to create an atmosphere to foster networking and dialogue.

Networking tools range from ‘high-touch’ events like catered breakfasts, luncheons, receptions, and showcase presentations, to year-round conversations on key social medial platforms and through the Informex blog. The net effect is to maximise the use of time and increase opportunities for those who attend the exhibition. In 2010, 38% of Informex visitors were first-time attendees, proving that the show is attracting the next generation of life science buyers.

Rebooking levels for the 2011 show reached record levels, with 56% of 2010 exhibitors signing up at the show, many of whom upgraded to larger booths. Johnson Matthey, Saltigo, Dottikon, InCon Processing, and Cherokee Pharma were among the exhibitors booking larger booths to expand their presence in 2011.

The Informex Gala Dinner will be re-launched for 2011.The original event, in 2008, featured Colin Powell as the keynote speaker and attracted over 650 guests. Along with the Gala Dinner, each night during the show there will be an opportunity for attendees and exhibitors to network with a variety of evening receptions.
