Chemical distributor aims to meet growing market demand

Chemical distributor Brenntag has opened a new distribution facility based in Jakarta, Indonesia in order to meet expanding market demand. According to the company, the 5,000 metre squared site will provide a bigger storage capacity than its current warehouse in Jakarta and will allow it to improve and expand customer support throughout the supply chain.

The facility features an in-house coatings application laboratory and will allow for the formulation and customisation of various blends of industrial chemicals. Other facilities include a sample room, designated cool rooms and two rooms to safely store hazardous and flammable products.

“We’ve seen a growth in the demand for chemical distribution in the Asia Pacific region, especially in Indonesia,” said Steven Holland, chief operating officer, Brenntag. “By expanding our local presence, we are making an investment to better serve our customers with advanced support and meet growing market demand; it will also strengthen our presence in the region.”

“The new facility will further bolster Brenntag’s ability to provide a number of services including storage, re-packing large-scale quantities into smaller quantities, delivery and other supply chain solutions,” added Henri Nejade, president and ceo of Brenntag Asia Pacific.

The new facility adds to the company’s growing distribution network in the Asia Pacific region, which includes more than 40 distribution centres.
