Spirited discussion at GS1’s UK Healthcare Conference

Domino Printing Sciences, world leader in coding and marking technologies, hosted a roundtable at GS1 UK’s Healthcare Conference at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 1 May, 2013.

Craig Stobie, global manager of Domino’s Life Sciences division (pictured above, second from left) led the spirited 30-minute lunchtime debate, which was titled ‘The hidden challenges of serialisation and the EU Falsified Medicines Directive’.

Consultants from companies including GlaxoSmithKline, Solidsoft, Kuehne + Nagel and Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare took a look at issues raised by the Directive - particularly the notion that to categorise serialisation and subsequent product traceability as a simple engineering issue is to underestimate greatly the impact it will have across all parts of a pharmaceutical manufacturer’s business.
