To undertake certified audits of pharma excipient suppliers

The EXCiPACT Association has signed an Agreement with DQS, an internationally-recognised audit body based in Frankfurt, Germany, for the certification of the manufacture and distribution of pharmaceutical excipients according to EXCiPACT’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP) certification standards.

Auditors employed by DQS who have completed the formal EXCiPACT Training/ Examination and have undertaken EXCiPACT-witnessed audits of pharmaceutical excipient suppliers will become Certified Auditors under the EXCiPACT certification scheme and listed on the organisation's website.

EU and US pharmaceutical excipient regulations now require drug manufacturers to carry out either their own or third party audits of all their starting material suppliers to demonstrate GMP and/or GDP compliance.

Using GMP and GDP standards designed for excipients, the EXCiPACT certification scheme is already helping excipient users and suppliers to reduce their audit burden, save costs and ensure quality.

EXCiPACT says it will register other certifying bodies and auditors in the near future.
