Mettler Toledo to open new facility in Tampa Bay, Florida

It will house the Product Inspection Division and support growth across the Americas

Mettler Toledo is building a new facility for its Product Inspection Division to accommodate the growth of its business across the Americas.

The new facility is expected to be completed towards the end of 2017, and will be located 15 miles north of the Division's current site in Tampa, FL, which houses the company's Safeline metal detection and X-ray inspection businesses.

The new facility will house this business and later Mettler Toledo's Hi-Speed Checkweighing business, which is planned to relocate from Ithaca, New York during 2018.

The investment in the new building will bring together the Hi-Speed and Safeline businesses into a single organisation at an integrated and efficient facility, which will be more than twice the size of the current building.

The firm said many common customers of both businesses will see significant advantages as a result of the move, such as more efficient co-ordination, engineering and installation of new projects.

The co-location will also provide a convenient place for the training, validation and service work required for existing Mettler Toledo installations.
