Natoli Engineering showcases NP-500

Published: 7-Dec-2016

Natoli Engineering Company’s NP-500 is a forty-five-station, double-sided, single footprint rotary tablet press ideal for high-compression ratio products featuring multiple options.

The NP-500 can accommodate manufacturing a variety of tablet designs with capacity to produce round tablets up to 22.23 mm and shaped tablets with a major axis up to 23.81 mm. With variable fill cam depths, maximum operating compression force of 89 kN and specialised tooling, the flexibility of the NP-500 is difficult to match.

Tooling is a key component of its effectiveness to adapt. The NP-500 accommodates fill ranges from 1.6 mm to 35 mm, meaning the Deep cams provide 100 percent more fill than standard “B” tooling and 56 percent more fill than standard “D” tools. In addition, standard NP-500 punches feature a head flat diameter 160 percent larger than standard “B” tools, and 56 percent larger than standard “D” tools, providing an extended compression dwell time and reducing the need for pre-compression.

Tablet manufacturers can be assured of consistent and accurate tablet sizes and weights with the NP-500. Key features include a user-friendly control system, automatic weight controls and tablet rejection, and provides additional features like:

  • Capabilities of up to 330,000 tablets per hour
  • Low level hopper sensors
  • Hardened steel die table
  • Auto-lubricated punch guides
