Jonathan Hair is all set to speed up a fledgling motor racing career by winning Meiji Techno UK's 2009 Deserving Young Driver award.

Hair, a mechanical engineer with a degree from the University of Bath who works for Rolls Royce, is now driving in the BARC Dunlop Clubmans Cup series in a Mallock Mk28 EBX sports racing car painted in Meiji Techno's livery.

Meiji Techno UK, the sole approved importer of Japanese manufactured light microscopes and accessories, saw this as an excellent opportunity to help a young driver take his first steps towards a possible career in motor sports.

Commenting on Hair's selection, Richard Fry, md of Meiji Techno UK, said he was impressed with Hair's experience of motorsport engineering and his desire to invest his own time and money to join a competitive racing team.

"Jonty has already driven in four races this season gaining podium finishes in two. We are now looking forward to his first win. It is good to be watching a car decked in Meiji's colours and helping a fine young man start his career," he said.
