AMRI promotes Richard Saffee to VP and general manager of large-scale manufacturing

Will drive synergies between locations in India, the UK and the US

Richard Saffee has become VP and general manager of large-scale manufacturing at AMRI, a newly created role.

Saffee will assume oversight for large-scale manufacturing in Aurangabad, India in addition to his current responsibilities for leadership of AMRI's large-scale manufacturing and GMP business in New York in the US. He will also work with AMRI's Holywell, UK site, assisting the operation in its large-scale manufacturing business. AMRI says Saffee will be positioned to drive synergies between the locations that will improve quality, efficiency and delivery of APIs.

Saffee joined AMRI in 2009 with more than 23 years of industrial and leadership experience in the chemical manufacturing of bulk Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) for both human and animal health. Since joining AMRI, his leadership has been instrumental in many successes achieved at the Rensselaer large-scale manufacturing location in New York State.

Before joining AMRI, Saffee led manufacturing activities for multiple US-based operations for Pfizer Global Manufacturing and Pfizer Global Human Health.
