Amber 150ml SS Flat glass bottle from general sale range chosen for Omega Pharma UK’s new Buttercup product

Having provided the pharmaceutical market with its glass packaging requirements for more than a quarter of a century, Beatson Clark was a natural choice when international company Bell Sons & Co wanted a container for its client Omega Pharma UK’s new product, Buttercup Chesty Cough Oral Solution.

Glass packaging is an essential requirement for some pharmaceuticals, as its inert capabilities ensure that there is no cross contamination from the packaging to the product itself. Bell Sons & Co has chosen the Amber 150ml SS Flat glass bottle from Beatson Clark’s general sale range for the Buttercup product.

Charlotte Taylor, marketing manager for Beatson Clark, commented: ‘We are delighted to be providing Bells with the bottle for the iconic Buttercup brand. As Beatson Clark established its own brand 260 years ago, it was the pharmaceutical industry that benefited from the company’s knowledge and understanding of glass packaging.

’In fact we still, today, have one of the largest portfolios of pharmaceutical products in the world, with our general sale range boasting more than 130 items, plus the many bespoke products we produce.

’We still continue to innovate and develop glass packaging for this market and are incorporating Beatson Clark’s environmental policies into some of our pharmaceutical ranges with our lightweighing techniques.’

The amber glass is the perfect choice for pharmaceutical products like Buttercup Chesty Cough Oral Solution for many reasons. Amber provides UV protection to the product and glass means there is no danger of any external toxins contaminating the products or leakage from the bottle itself. Amber glass has a rich, dark visual appeal, can be more cost-effective than clear glass and gives the appearance of superior quality.

The recently launched Buttercup Chesty Cough Oral Solution is available nationwide within some of the UK’s largest retailers such as Boots, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Lloyds Pharmacy and many independent chemists.
