Will explore ways of working closely together on clinical research

Contract research organisation Ecron Acunova has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Newcastle University in the UK under which the two parties will explore ways of working together on clinical trials.

The MoU builds on a number of initial discussions, conducted recently under confidentiality agreements, about how the two organisations can collaborate.

Newcastle University hosts one of the leading medical schools in the UK. It has a clear focus on translational research and a close relationship with a number of hospitals. The university says it intends to expand its relationships with overseas CROs and views Ecron Acunova as a good partner.

Ecron Acunova is a leading CRO in India and has subsidiaries in Europe and the US. Its European headquarters is in Frankfurt, Germany.

The company aims to expand its operation in UK and sees Newcastle University as a way of achieving this.

The two organisations have pledged to continue detailed discussions about mutually beneficial working relationships.

As a start, Ecron Acunova has contracted its first clinical research study at Newcastle University.

Ecron Acunova provides end-to-end services for phase I–IV clinical research, including clinical trial management, clinical data management, PK/PD services and central lab for pharmaceutical, biotech, nutritional, medical diagnostic and device sponsors.
