Heat transfer fluid experts, Heat Transfer Systems, has unveiled HTfluidfit, a revolutionary new process which allows thermal fluids to be treated within the operating system.

HTfluidfit is a new range of equipment that enables HTS to provide a pro-active service for the maintenance and safety of thermal fluids. Developed in partnership with the UK division of multi-national Flamco, the system conditions the fluids in situ and with regular or ongoing intervention this ensures that flash points never drop below the required designated minimum.

This advancement means that thermal fluid systems no longer have to be shut down to drain and replace thermal fluids, saving businesses time and money. The developers, HTS, also claim the system can extend the life of fluid up to ten-fold or longer, lower risk and improve safety, reduce carbon emissions and waste and deliver significant cost savings.

The new HTfluidfit system delivers:
  • Guaranteed flash and fire points
  • Reduced risk and improved safety
  • Consistent heat transfer performance
  • Reduction in high and low boilers, sludges and insolubles
  • Extended fluid life up to 10-fold +
  • Elimination of system downtime
  • Reduced carbon footprint
  • Reduced waste
  • Significant cost savings over traditional methods
  • Long-term sustainability

Richard Franklin, director of HTS said: 'All organic thermal fluids degrade. Over time the generation of low and high boilers can cause loss of thermal efficiency, increased flammability, pump cavitation, mechanical failure, system down-time and associated cost.

'Added to this it is now a regulatory requirement to monitor and maintain fluid flashpoints. Traditionally, this has been achieved by the total replacement of the fluid leading to downtime, environmental consequences and significant costs. Until now the maintenance of heat transfer fluids has been a reactive process driven by sampling and analysis.

'This new system will transform heat transfer fluid maintenance and deliver huge cost savings to businesses. HTfluidfit really is the future for thermal fluids.'
