Newman Labelling Systems recently helped pharmaceutical customer Merck & Co, Inc. save money without compromising on quality by providing a refurbishment service for a Newman VAL550 labeller, rather than the company having to purchase a new one.

This high speed pharmaceutical labelling system had been installed in 1999 at Merck's West Point premises in the USA where it had been little used. MMDA in Australia acquired the labeller and had it sent to Newman Labelling for refurbishment where all worn items were replaced and the specification changed to meet MMDA's requirements.

On completion of the refurbishment and re validation by Newman, the VAL550 was shipped to MMDA's Sydney premises where it is now in use for dual processing of diluents and vaccines along side the company's existing labeller.
