The German manufacturer of plastic packaging components for pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare products has extended its plant in China and has opened a sales office in Indonesia

Friedrich Sanner, a German manufacturer of plastic packaging components for pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare products, is strengthening its presence in Asia by expanding its plant in Kunshan, China.

The Bensheim-based firm also opened a new sales office in Indonesia in October.

Sanner has invested ‘several million euros’ in the new building and production systems in China and has increased the number of staff at the Kunshan plant by 20% to 100. The extension doubles Sanner’s cleanroom production capacity and ensures controlled production in a carefully monitored environment.

The plant manufactures standard products, including tubes and desiccant closures, and also develops customised packaging solutions.

‘The plant site opened in 2000 has become an important unit within our corporate group,’ said Sanner’s chief executive Holger Frank. ‘We see further growth potential in Asia.’

The new sales office in Jakarta primarily serves customers in Southeast Asia. The sales office in Shanghai, China will continue to serve other Asian regions.
