Telstar opens subsidiary in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Will focus on firm\'s growth in the Asia-Pacific region

Telstar formally inaugurated its new subsidiary in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 2 April. The new centre will focus on reinforcing a professional and specialised service in the Asia-Pacific region’s pharmaceutical market.

By opening the new centre, Telstar aims to reinforce its global activities in engineering, construction and manufacturing processes for development of turnkey plants and installations for local and multinational pharmaceutical companies with high growth potential, such as biopharmaceutical, life science research, personalised medicine, regenerative medicine and functional foods areas.

The Telstar brand is now represented in this region by three specialised production plants and engineering centres in China, Bangladesh and India.

Telstar operates in more than 100 countries and has seven production plants, seven technology centres and 13 consulting and engineering services centres all over the world.

In 2013, Azbil, a leading Japanese group in building automation for the building market, advanced automation for the industry market and life automation systems for the life sciences and healthcare markets took an 80% stake in Telstar. As a subsidiary of Azbil, Telstar leads the life sciences engineering business division of the Japanese corporation.
