Watson-Marlow, an international positive displacement pump manufacturer headquartered in the UK, has bought the German Sine pump manufacturing business of Maso Process-Pumpen from the Sundyne Corporation.

Maso Process products will be rebranded MasoSine. Manufacture, design and product management will continue to be based in Ilsfeld, Germany.

MasoSine's UK and US sales teams have joined Watson-Marlow from Sundyne and will continue in their current roles.

Watson Marlow says the MasoSine products are a natural extension of its peristaltic pumps. They join Watson-Marlow pumps and tubing, Bredel hose pumps, Alitea OEM pumps and Flexicon filling systems.

MasoSine positive displacement pumps feature an exclusive single shaft and sinusoidal rotor to produce a powerful suction with low shear, low pulsation and gentle handling. They are said to be simple and economic to maintain.

The wavelike action of the sinusoidal rotor can also be visualised as a stainless steel peristaltic pump.

Mike Sullivan, marketing manager of the Watson-Marlow Pumps Group, said the acquisition of MasoSine "broadens our product range and strengthens Watson-Marlow's position in the positive displacement pump market".

Watson Marlow is part of the Spirax-Sarco Engineering Group.
