UK distributor of pharmaceuticals will offer AcuTemp RKN container to customers

CSafe, the US manufacturer of the AcuTemp RKN active temperature-controlled container for the airfreight business, has signed a master lease agreement (MLA) with Pharmafreight.

Under the MLA, the Ashford, Middlesex, UK-based distributor of pharmaceuticals will offer its clients the AcuTemp RKN, which is said to help minimise the risks associated with temperature-controlled distribution of medicines.

Andy Hughes, Pharmafreight's commercial director, said: ‘Our customers have been very interested in the functionality of the container as well as its robust performance and validation data.

‘We are now in the process of examining how, and where best, the CSafe RKN can serve our network and look to introduce its operation as quickly as possible.’

CSafe attributes the performance of the AcuTemp RKN to the thermal capabilities of ThermoCor insulation and the unit’s proprietary air movement, heating, and cooling systems that together allow it to maintain a consistent payload set-point across ambient temperatures between –30°C and +49°C, for long periods.

CSafe has also recently introduced the AcuTemp SVS, which shares the same temperature management and data recording features of the AcuTemp RKN, but in a size that accommodates shipments of less than a full pallet.

CSafe is a joint venture between AmSafe and AcuTemp Thermal Systems. AcuTemp produces actively controlled mobile refrigeration units for life sciences, healthcare, military and international disaster relief agencies.
