Will provide high content imaging analysis for EPA ToxCast Project

Cyprotex, a UK headquartered specialist preclinical contract research organisation, has won a five-year contract with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The Macclesfield, Cheshire-based firm will be working on the EPA’s ongoing ToxCast Project testing the environmental impact of chemicals. Cyprotex will be providing high content imaging bioassay analysis of the ToxCast Compound Library.

No financial details have been revealed.

Chief Executive Tony Baxter said a previous delay in the signing of the high content toxicology deal had hit first-half sales to 31 December 2012 in the US, which fell by 12% for the AIM-listed firm.

Sales growth is expected to accelerate in the second half of the year.
