3M hosts free webinar focusing on protecting employees from potential chemical hazards in the workplace

Diversified technology company 3M is putting the spotlight on the issue of chemical protection by hosting a free webinar on the subject. Taking place on Thursday 21 March at 12.00pm, the webinar will be hosted by Technical Services Engineer Nikita Shah of the 3M Personal Safety Division, who will identify four key steps to help protect employees from potential chemical hazards in the workplace.

‘Many workplaces encounter a number of different chemical hazards, and implementing appropriate controls can be daunting,’ Shah explains. ‘This webinar aims to give practical advice to anyone who has identified chemical hazards in the workplace.

‘In certain industries, such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals and oil and gas, there are situations and processes that necessitate workers having some contact with potentially hazardous chemicals, making Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) essential. Ensuring that these situations are identified and the correct type of protective coveralls chosen can be achieved in four key steps: risk assessment, identifying control measures, PPE selection and training.

‘This webinar will cover each of the four steps in detail, offering top tips and advice, plus there will be an opportunity to ask questions on any aspect of chemical protection.’

To register for the webinar, go to www.3M.co.uk/safety/safetyspotlight. All you need to join is a telephone and internet access.
