Millipore buys remaining 60% of Indian joint venture

Millipore Corporation, a provider of equipment and services to the life science industry, has bought the remaining 60% of its joint venture in India, Millipore India, a business based in Bangalore that employs around 300 people.


Millipore Corporation, a provider of equipment and services to the life science industry, has bought the remaining 60% of its joint venture in India, Millipore India, a business based in Bangalore that employs around 300 people.

Millipore India is primarily a sales, service and manufacturing organisation with additional offices in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi. The joint venture's revenues are split evenly between Millipore's Bioprocess and Bioscience divisions.

The new subsidiary will enable Millipore to invest in initiatives that will drive growth and expand its presence in India's life science market.

The company said the acquisition would have minimal impact on its 2009 earnings. No financial details were given.
