Patheon adds softgel capsule capability at Cincinnati facility

Edgar Jaynes joins the provider of drug development and manufacturing services to lead the unit


Patheon, a global provider of drug development and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical industry is adding a softgel capsule capability at its Cincinnati, US facility.

The company has appointed Edgar Jaynes as its associate director of pharmaceutical development services to run the unit. He has broad industry experience in product development and manufacturing, particularly in soft gel technology.

‘Adding soft gel equipment enhances our current liquid filled, hard gelatin capsule technology in Cincinnati and creates a more comprehensive service offering to our clients,’ said Wes Wheeler, Patheon's chief executive and president.

Wheeler said that Jaynes will be a key addition to Patheon’s Cincinnati PDS operation.

Jaynes joins Patheon from Banner Pharmacaps, where he has been for the past 14 years.
