Temperature-controlled transportation products specialist will join Peli BioPharma division

Peli Products, a US manufacturer of high-performance protective cases and portable torches, has acquired Minnesota Thermal Science (MTS), a global temperature-controlled transportation products specialist, for an undisclosed sum. Based in Plymouth, Minnesota, MTS will merge with Peli’s BioPharma division.

‘The combined entity will offer customers an even wider range of the most advanced temperature controlled packaging solutions for the safe transport of pharmaceuticals, tissue, biologics, diagnostics, blood and other healthcare products,’ said Lyndon Faulkner, president and CEO of Peli.

In addition to Peli BioPharma cases that offer 140+ hours between 2–8ºC, customers will now have access to MTS products, including the reusable Credo Cube and the Credo Xtreme full pallet, which holds 890 litres, and the half pallet which holds 406 litres. In addition to the packaging, MTS offers services and software to support a reusable temperature controlled packaging system.

‘Joining forces with Peli will enable us to aim even higher and provide customers with an unmatched global cold chain solution under one company,’ said Tom Anderson, CEO of MTS. ‘An accelerated product development programme which will significantly enhance the combined company’s solution set and associated cold chain services is already underway.’

Peli Products is a portfolio company of Behrman Capital, a private equity investment firm based in New York and San Francisco.
