Suzhou launches generic Mecobalamin tablets in China
Amerigen makes first entry into Chinese generics market
Suzhou Amerigen Pharmaceuticals, a Chinese subsidiary of US generics company Amerigen Pharmaceuticals, has received Chinese FDA (CFDA) approval to launch its generic Mecobalamin 0.5mg tablets in China.
The pharma company has tied up with Sinochem Jiangsu Pharmaceutical Company for marketing and distribution. Amerigen is manufacturing the product at its US FDA-approved and CFDA-certified oral solid dose facility in Suzhou, and is distributing it under the Suzhou Amerigen label.
According to John Lowry, Amerigen’s President and Chief Executive Officer, the approval and launch of Mecobalamin was Amerigen’s first generic product entry in China.
