Enhances high purity product portfolio


VWR, a provider of laboratory products, services and solutions, has acquired Purification Technologies Inc (PTI), to enhance its growing laboratory and production chemical manufacturing portfolio.

Purification Technologies, based in Chester, Connecticut, US, is a speciality solvent company that produces high purity solvents for analystical, biotechnology and agrochemical customers internationally.

'PTI's solvent purification expertise and process capabilities improve access to a key solvent line and enhances our portfolio of high purity products available to our customers,' said Manuel Brocke-Benz, President and CEO of VWR.

'Our customers in the chromatography, biochemical and agrochemical industries will benefit through VWR's ability to supply high purity Acetonitrile and other solvents in both bulk and lab scale quantities.'

No financial details have been revealed about the deal.
