Newly appointed sales engineer Walter Burger heads the Swiss operation.

Klaus Heinrich, country manager for Switzerland and Germany, said: "We have worked with two distributors for our Swiss customers - Rotoconsulta and Skan - for a number of years. Being able to offer a direct service for industrial and process application distribution is a milestone we're extremely proud to have reached. We will retain the distribution services of Skan for the laboratory sector."

Latin America's sales manager Rolando Sanchez is managing the sales division in Mexico, which started operation on 1 April. Guillermo Tellez has been appointed as sales manager for Mexico.

The team will oversee the transition of operations from Watson-Marlow Inc in the US, solidifying the company's commitment to the Central American region by providing its customers with the best in local knowledge, services and products.

The company is based in the offices of sister company Spirax Sarco Mexicana in Mexico City. Plans for a local assembly plant are currently in place, but the Mexican company will initially purchase all Group products from Watson-Marlow Inc and the European factories.

These moves follow the opening of the Watson-Marlow Pumps Group office in Russia last year. Vadim Sidorenko joined the Russian facility in May as sales manager and mechanical engineering expert.
