Published: 4-Apr-2024

The expansion enables the company to ship pharmaceuticals between +25 and -196 °C

Logistics4Pharma , a GDP-compliant specialist in pharmaceutical cold-chain warehousing and logistics, is expanding its portfolio of services at its facility in Kelsterbach to include dry shippers, further strengthening its logistics offering for the pharmaceutical industry at Frankfurt Airport.

A dry shipper, (cryoshipper) is a thermal container with an inlay that absorbs liquid nitrogen (LIN) to cool its contents to temperatures as low as -196°C.

Julius von Pfeil, Head of Supply Chain & Finance, explains: “By expanding our shipment capabilities to -196 °C, we can now meet bio-pharma customer needs, enhancing Frankfurt Airport’s status as a major logistics hub for highly sensitive complex pharmaceutical compounds.”

Staff training and equipment validation began immediately upon the arrival of the equipment in late March at Logistics4Pharma, with the first commercial shipments scheduled for mid-April.

Kees Schmidt, Head of Operations & Customer Service, notes: “With the inclusion of dry shippers alongside our logistics cold chain solutions, we now cover all temperature ranges from +25 °C to now -196 °C, in addition to our customs and bonded services.

This expansion will be exhibited at Logipharma 2024 in Lyon, France, from the 16—18th April, at Booth 59.
