Gerard Harford has joined Medica Packaging as Managing Director.
Harford has been employed in the packaging Industry for more than 25 years, in both the FMCG and pharmaceutical and healthcare markets.
In 2006 he became the owner of Storey Evans & Co, an independent pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging supplier, which was acquired as part of European Contego Healthcare Packaging Group. Harford led Contego Healthcare as Managing Director of the UK and then recently as part of Essentra plc.
Harford said: 'Under the ownership of Sullivan Street Partners, Medica Packaging has re-established itself as the UK’s leading independent supplier to the pharmaceutical and healthcare market sectors for printed cartons and patient information leaflets.
'This is a demanding market sector, where there is a growing desire from customers for a truly independent, service and quality focused, competitive producer. Medica is therefore a compelling opportunity both for clients and myself.'
John Bath, CEO since Medica was acquired by Sullivan Street Partners from the Benson Group, will become Chairman and continue to be actively involved in the business.
