Anton Paar launches new generation of DMA density meters

Published: 30-Jul-2025

New range offers six-digit repeatability, in-house calibration and unmatched measurement precision

Anton Paar, the world market leader in density measurement, has launched a new generation of digital density meters. The series ranges from the three-digit DMA 502 benchtop units to the most accurate density meter in the world, DMA 6002, with six-digit repeatability. These instruments have benefited from major in-house investments in production and calibration processes at Anton Paar’s Technology Center in Graz, Austria – underlining the company’s commitment to providing the most accurate and reliable density measurement technology on the market.

U-Tube: advanced density measuring cell
The core of each density meter is the oscillating U-tube, which is now manufactured 100% in-house to ensure maximum control over quality and performance. This has enabled significant improvements in production tolerances, consistency, and integration into a wider range of product lines – resulting in more precise, robust, and repeatable density measurements.
In parallel, Anton Paar has implemented their hydrostatic balance as a basis for production of ISO-17034 certified reference material. Together with in-house ISO 17025-certified density calibration, this forms the foundation for the highest-precision instrument calibration available.

U-Dry: effortless drying with a single swipe
Users can initiate the drying process of the measuring cell with one swipe, enabling faster, more efficient cleaning cycles. The air pump is activated automatically with just a single hand movement, and the innovative syringe illumination highlights filling errors even before the sample enters the U-tube.

U-Pulse: enhanced density measuring principle
The renowned, patented Anton Paar Pulsed Excitation Method leads to unmatched measurement result precision. Equipped with a built-in reference oscillator, the sensor allows drift-free measurements independent from any change of the measuring temperature.

U-View and FillingCheck: smart sample filling
Enhanced with a zoomable camera image, U-View allows detailed sample monitoring and immediate correction before even starting the measurement. The FillingCheck feature automatically detects microbubbles and alerts the user in case of filling errors. All incidents are documented in the results database.

With their dual investment in production and metrology, combined with a range of new features, Anton Paar ensures that its DMA density meters remain: always superior.
