Pharmaceutical packaging specialist IMA has further incorporated AI into its formal and operational structure within its Research and Innovation sector.
This involves the creation of two new centres of expertise: IMA AI LAB and Embedded Data Machines, which aim to consolidate and expand the use of AI across several fronts.
Through these initiatives, IMA will use AI to integrate intelligent functionalities into machines and plants, as well as advancing the data analysis and collection process.
The company will also use the technology to develop predictive algorithms and advanced tools for support and technical assistance.
This scheme aims to "transform AI's potential," and complements ongoing activities the company is involved in that employ AI to enahnce customer training programmes.
“Artificial Intelligence for IMA is not an experiment, but a clear direction," stated IMA Group's Director of Research and Innovation, Dario Rea.
“We are moving along multiple axes: connectivity, automation, troubleshooting, training — and we do so with a key principle: AI must serve work, not complicate it."
"The technology must generate value, not overhead, and it must be responsible, useful and transparent," he added.
"With this initiative, IMA strengthens its pragmatic approach to innovation and reaffirms its commitment to being not just a technology provider, but an evolutionary partner for its customers," Rea concluded.
