Labtex announces the successful installation of a 5-litre REACTEX reactor system for a prominent drug development and commercialisation services company. This installation marks another milestone in supporting the pharmaceutical sector with advanced laboratory and process chemistry solutions.
The REACTEX system, renowned for its flexibility and precision, is ideal for pharmaceutical applications, offering options for plain, jacketed, and vacuum jacketed vessels. The system features an easy drain-down design, quick vessel changeover, and standard DN100 flanges. Its robust temperature control capabilities range from -90°C to +250°C and include a spring-loaded PTFE no-dead-space valve with a FFKM o-ring, providing exceptional chemical resistance and vacuum integrity down to 1 mbar.
Versatile vessel design
REACTEX vessels are engineered with reduced height DN100 ground flanges, clear volume graduations, and a 10 mm spring-loaded no-dead-space valve. Vessels are equipped with PEEK and stainless-steel jacket connections, compatible with M16 insulated hoses for integration with external heating/cooling circulators. Outlet options include a standard GL18 thread, with alternatives such as straight tubes or DN15 flanges available.
Advanced lid and accessory integration
Each system includes a PTFE DN100 lid with a self-locating securing ring and comprehensive connectivity: 5 x ½” NPT threads, 4 x PTFE B29 Rodaviss sockets—including a central joint—and an 8 mm compression fitting for a PT100 temperature probe. A PFA-coated DN100 quick-release clamp secures the lid, ensuring a reliable seal.
The integrated DIEHM mechanical seal, suitable for 10 mm shafts, supports vacuum operations to 1 mbar and is designed with product-contact parts in glass for maximum chemical compatibility.
Customisable agitation and stirring
REACTEX systems come standard with a chemically inert, fully moulded PTFE 4-blade impeller mounted on a stainless-steel shaft. Alternative impeller designs and adjustable rotor options are available. While overhead stirrers are not included as standard, Labtex offers a range of compatible models from IKA, CAT, and Caframo upon request.
