IMA Active to showcase its new tablet presses at NEXTEN in Italy

Published: 11-Sep-2025

The event, set at Villa Erba, will celebrate tableting innovation and involve leaders in the pharmaceutical industry through a variety of technical sessions

Promoted and organised by IMA Active, NEXTEN will be held on 27th - 28th October 2025 in the magnificent setting of Villa Erba, overlooking Lake Como in Italy.

Attendees from all over the world will have the chance to discover IMA Active's new tablet presses, DOMINA and SOLIDA, which promise to be a brand-new concept of tablet presses.

Conceived as a modular technological platform, where all the functional blocks are easily removable and interchangeable, DOMINA allows a plug-and-play shift amongst different machine configurations.

Conversely, SOLIDA is designed to combine robust performance with versatile and easy operation. It also allows efficient functional upgrades.

The new IMA Active tablet presses are easily adaptable to state-of-the-art production environments and are able to learn and suggest improvements.

A unique, patented filling cam named Dynamicam covers the entire filling range, which, when combined with motorisation of the independent paddles, is the best for product-centric fine tuning.

Enhancing the user's experience can be achieved through smart design.

With the new IMA Active tablet presses, the processing area is fully accessible once the external doors are opened, whilst access to the machine basement is required only for maintenance.

Additionally, turret changeover can be completed in a matter of minutes, thanks to a rotating arm nested in the machines.

DOMINA features servo-assisted phases, minimising the operator’s intervention, whilst SOLIDA takes the operator through comfortable procedures fully guided via the HMI.

Through these innovations, operating errors are practically eliminated.

Based on the proven PREXIMA concept, the new IMA Active tablet presses are designed to be extremely robust, allowing for both pre-compression and main compression forces of up to 100 kN.
