TurboFil Packaging Machines LLC, an equipment specialist dedicated solely to the design and development of liquid filling and assembly machines, has been named the exclusive US distributor for RAVONA, a prominent manufacturer of aseptic and containment isolation technology. Moving forward, TurboFil will handle all sales and customer service activities for RAVONA’s range of premium aseptic and containment technologies and glove integrity testers, allowing for streamlined integration of those systems with TurboFil’s range of aseptic-ready manufacturing and filling lines.
RAVONA provides sophisticated, often bespoke equipment solutions for a variety of industries where aseptic and containment isolation technology are required. For pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare customers, the company’s state-of-the-art isolation solutions and services maintain safe, aseptic conditions while helping to optimise research, production or assembly processes.
RAVONA’s containment isolators, branded RCI, are engineered to manage materials classified in the Occupational Exposure Bands (OEB) 4-6, with a particular focus on high-potency active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPIs). Such substances require the strictest containment protocols to ensure safety for both operators and the surrounding environment. RAVONA containment isolators can be integrated into various applications including reactors, Nutsche Filters, scales, milling machines, blenders, and other isolator line production equipment.
The partnership’s keystone is the RAVONA Aseptic Isolator (RAI) series of scalable automated systems, which combine aseptic fill-finish capabilities with optional advanced freeze dryer loading and unloading modules. Providing exemplary standards of sterility, precision and efficiency, the solutions ensure a contamination-free process that increases line productivity while safeguarding batch integrity. Fill-finish and lyophilisation is performed in aseptic environment that achieves ISO 5 (class -100) cleanroom standards.
Another highlight is the RAVONA Decontamination System (RDS), an open-loop hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) solution offering high output and flexible design features for the continuous decontamination of production filling line isolators. The system combines exacting dehumidification, conditioning, targeted bio-decontamination and aeration for intricate, mission-critical isolator sterility. Another adjacent model is the RAVONA Catalysation System (RCS), which significantly accelerates the hydrogen peroxide decomposition process at room temperature; in doing so, the system minimises isolator downtime while adhering to stringent safety protocols.
TurboFil also will promote RAVONA’s advanced solution for testing the integrity of isolator or R.A.B.S gloves. Capable of detecting holes as minuscule as 100 or even 50 microns (μm), the IGT Series of automated testing systems utilises pressure decay measurement compliant with ISO 10648-2 standards. Comprising a battery-powered test cover and a 21 CFR Part 11-compliant software interface, the modular system can be deployed as a standalone unit (called the IGT-200), a multiple testers trolley (IGT-300), or an integrated part of an isolator platform (IGT-400). Notably, the testers are equipment-agnostic, making them compatible with isolators from providers other than RAVONA.
“RAVONA’s set of aseptic and containment solutions pairs well with our portfolio of established filling and assembly machines, combining to provide pharmaceuticals and medical device customers with more complete, turnkey solutions for cleanroom manufacturing requirements,” said Deborah Smook, VP of Marketing & Business Development for TurboFil Packaging Machines LLC. “We’re proud to team up with a company with such longstanding engineering expertise, and whose quality-first approach aligns with our own dedication to meeting complex, high-leverage healthcare sector production needs.”
“This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our global expansion strategy, enabling far greater US market access to our advanced solutions in aseptic and containment isolation technologies, as well as glove integrity testers,” said Amit Ravona, Head of Business Development for RAVONA. “Together with the experienced team at TurboFil, we look forward to exploring new opportunities, serving more customers, and continuing to raise the bar in pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing.”
