As an international distributor of mineral raw materials, MAGNESIA is aware of the responsibility towards employees and business partners as well as towards society and the environment.

In the course of its business activities, it harmonises economic, ecological and social aspects. Sustainable and responsible action is an essential foundation, which the company applies as a benchmark for the cooperation with our business partners.

In order to comply with this, MAGNESIA has committed itself on its own initiative to already take into account a large part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, both internally and along the supply chain, and to comply with them to the greatest possible extent.

The company has integrated action in accordance with these sustainability goals into a corporate strategy in order to capture the current and potential as well as positive and negative impacts of corporate actions along the value chain. As a result, it was awarded with the Ecovadis silver status in 2022.

With the knowledge that has developed over the centuries about salts and minerals in Lüneburgs salt works, MAGNESIA was founded in 1983 as the successor to “Saline Lüneburg und Chemische Fabrik” by its former employees. The aim was to trade magnesium, calcium and other mineral compounds in high quality and with the focus on customers.

The latter is the reason why the company has continuously expanded its product portfolio for international customers and partners. In 2023, MAGNESIA is looking to celebrate its 40th anniversary with customers, suppliers and business partners of all kinds during CPHI 2023 in Barcelona.
