Thermal pouch protects medicines in transit
Coldpack's inflatable thermal envelope for transporting small temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical items is available in three sizes of one, three and five litres.
Made from Coldpack's Airliner insulating film, the One Day pharmaceutical pouch maintains product contents within a +2 to +8ºC temperature range for up to 24 hours.
Typical applications include the transfer of medication to patients, hospital distribution and supply chain, pharmaceutical wholesale distribution and the shipment of biological materials or samples.
"Existing solutions on the market aren't designed for transporting small quantities or small items, and yet these are common requirements transported by pharmacists or medical professionals," said Nicolas Choffel, Coldpack's expert pharmacist.
Delivered inflated, the Coldpack One Day pharmaceutical pouch offers all of the advantages of Airliner in a convenient, ready-to-use format.
Airliner uses a special film manufactured using DuPont Surlyn resin, which blocks calorie transfer to minimise heat transfer. The material is lightweight for comfortable handling but robust enough to provide shock absorption from impact.
The medicine to be transported is placed in the designated product section, and eutectic gel packs are inserted into the adjoining compartment. This ensures there is no direct contact between the product and the cooling source. The zipped pouch is then sealed in one simple action.
