According to Schubert, the advantages of ultra-sound are: short sealing times, cold tool, long service life, energy-saving and simultaneous sealing and punching. It also gives a validatable sealing quality, quick tool changes, there are no sharp punching contours and packages are easy to open.

The TLM thermoform filling and closing machines use ultrasound for both sealing and punching. They are also equipped with a continually running film transport, and therefore enable continuous filling and long gassing times.
