To support growth in clients and volume of consultancy projects

Simcyp Limited, based in Sheffield, UK, is strengthening its presence in the US by opening an office near Boston, MA.

Simcyp provides modelling and simulation tools for the assessment of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in virtual populations to a consortium of pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients that includes Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Eli Lilly.

Dr Karen Rowland-Yeo, who is Simcyp’s senior scientific advisor and principal consultant, will now represent the firm in the US. Dr Rowland-Yeo has several years’ experience heading Simcyp’s bioinformatics team and has played a major role in establishing and growing Simcyp consultancy services in recent years.

John Evans, managing director of Simcyp Limited, said the firm had seen a recent increase in its client base and volume of consultancy projects.

‘It is now appropriate for Simcyp to have a permanent presence in the US,’ he said. ‘This move increases the proximity of expert assistance to our US clients.’
