Success for seven staff at The Specials Laboratory

Students pass NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services

High-flying staff at The Specials Laboratory in Northumberland, UK have successfully completed an NVQ Level 3 qualification.

The seven staff passed their two-year NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services following a combination of internal training and community pharmacy placements.

The students included Jill Soulsby, Stephanie Thirlwell, Gail Johnson, David Hart, Michael Yearnshire, Richard Endersby and Matthew Scott, who were all presented with their certificates by Sukhjit Grewal, head of education and training at the National Pharmacy Association (NPA).

Grewal made a special trip to the firm to present the students with their certificates.

‘It was a great honour to have the opportunity to congratulate the students personally in recognition of their outstanding achievements,’ he said.

Following the official presentation ceremony at the company’s Prudhoe offices, Grewal and managers from the specials manufacturer attended a celebratory supper with the students and their families.

Catherine McGlew, learning and development manager at The Specials Laboratory, said: ‘We are extremely proud of the achievements of our students and their qualifications demonstrate a huge amount of dedication and commitment from them all to continue progressing.’

The Specials Laboratory places great emphasis on training and last year was awarded the Silver Investors in People (IIP) status – an honour achieved by less than 1% of IIP recognised organisations across the UK – and was also accredited as a Best Companies to Work For ‘One To Watch’.
