Sygnis, a DNA amplification and sequencing company, headquartered in Germany and Spain, has appointed Heikki Lanckriet as co-CEO and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), a newly created position.
Lanckriet has also joined the Management Board of Sygnis, along with Pilar de la Huerta, who will be co-CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the combined organisation.
Lanckriet co-founded Expedeon, a privately held proteomics tools and reagents company headquartered in the UK, in 2003.
At Expedeon, he was Chief Operating Officer, CSO and CEO, and accumulated extensive knowledge of the life sciences tools and reagents business.
Lanckriet holds a BSc and MSc in biochemical engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium and a PhD in biochemical engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK.
