US subsidiary opened by Arch Pharmalabs of India

APIs and pharmaceutical intermediates producer Arch Pharmalabs, based in Mumbai, India, has opened a US subsidiary in Lexington, Massachusetts, headed up by Stuart Needleman.


APIs and pharmaceutical intermediates producer Arch Pharmalabs, based in Mumbai, India, has opened a US subsidiary in Lexington, Massachusetts, headed up by Stuart Needleman.

Arch Pharmalabs (USA) will function as a North American sales, marketing and administrative organisation, providing the US pharma market with custom synthesis and contract manufacturing services from India.

Before this appointment, Needleman was executive vice-president of PolyCarbon Industries, a life sciences manufacturing and product services company involved in the development of niche APIs. Prior to that he held senior management positions with Oxford Asymmetry, Rhodia Pharma Solutions and its predecessors, Rhodia ChiRex and ChiRex.

Arch Pharmalabs recently entered into an agreement with US-based biotechnology company Codexis, to produce a generic pharmaceutical intermediate.
