First annual CEO Summit for senior industry executives to discuss business strategies and trends in custom manufacturing of pharmaceutical ingredients

Informex, the leading meeting place for buyers and sellers of high-value chemistry for a broad range of applications, and CMS Pharma, M&A and corporate strategy advisor for the custom manufacturing industry, are to hold the first annual CEO Summit of Pharma Manufacturing in Charlotte, North Carolina, on 6 February 2011, one day prior to the opening of the annual flagship InformexUSA event.

The invitation-only summit will bring together the leading ceos and business unit executives in the contract manufacturing and contract research sectors to discuss business strategies and industry trends, while providing a high level networking forum.

‘By holding the CEO Summit a day before the exhibition begins, we are able to provide an additional, value-adding resource for our VIP attendees at InformexUSA and aim to make this a must-attend annual networking event for high level executives within the pharma contract services sector,’ commented Jennifer Jessup, global brand director of Informex.

‘To encourage continued communication on the topics addressed during the summit, in conjunction with CMS Pharma, we will also be providing guests with an exclusive blog where they can conduct further conversations and network throughout the year.’

CMS Pharma will deliver high quality and original content for the half-day event and will facilitate the discussion among senior industry figures. The summit will review what has happened in the past several years as well as future projections for the contract manufacturing industry.

Discussion topics will focus on top industry trends, fundamental shifts in pharma custom manufacturing and will examine how ceos can leverage these to the benefit of their respective companies.

Specific topics will include:

  • Market trends over the past five years and the rise of India as API manufacturing hub
  • Pipeline deals: manufacturing site acquisitions and their side effects
  • Current outlook: a business model under stress
  • Likely market development scenario by 2015
  • Path forward for the custom manufacturing industry

‘The need to develop a platform to exchange at the highest levels on long-term industry trends led us to deign the CEO Summit. The partnership to produce it with Informex came about very organically. We are both drawing on our strengths for the event,’ noted Andrew Badrot, founder and ceo, CMS Pharma.

‘Our deep understanding of the industry coupled with our experience will enable us to provide a programme full of high quality information and pertinent analysis transforming the event into a great place to network and learn, but also a true “think tank” of great minds.’

All content and discussions within the summit will be subject to an anti-trust agreement to support open discussion and freedom of thought, as well as to encourage participation of all guests in attendance. To participate in the summit, guests must be a ceo or pharma business segment head and their company must either be an attendee or exhibitor at InformexUSA.
