As the user of a steam steriliser in a quality critical environment you need to appreciate how your actions can impact on the efficacy of the sterilisation process. Product wrapping, load design, the interpretation of cycle data and the actions you take in the event could all have a negative effect on the outcome of the sterilisation process if not properly understood or executed, resulting in biological hazards, inadequate decontamination and ultimately compromised product quality and patient safety. Practical sessions include; load design, load wrapping, daily Bowie Dick cycles, wet loads and control system alarms.
