In a move that some might have missed last year, the world leader in serving science consolidated their laboratory chemicals portfolio under the Thermo Scientific brand.

This includes the consolidation of Acros Organics, Alfa Aesar and Maybridge brands to one single brand, Thermo Scientific. This change was accompanied by making these 80,000+ products available on thermofisher.com/chemicals.

According to Nicky Burbidge, Vice President and General Manager, Fine Chemical Products: “These changes are being made to simplify the product and service offering and provide our customers with one complete portfolio. Our portfolio includes over 80,000 chemicals and biochemical reagents, such as ultra-pure organics, heterocyclic building blocks, solvents, coupling reagents, screening libraries for drug discovery, organometallics, ligands, metal catalysts, precious metal compounds, and performance materials for electronics and nanotechnology.”

While the brand name on the label and the color of a bottle cap may have changed, the products themselves did not, and will not, change. On this topic, Ms. Burbidge added: “We want to assure our customers that the product codes, specifications, quality, and performance of the products they know and trust, will not change. You can still expect unmatched choice, quality, and supply assurance for all your chemical needs across a diverse range of markets.”

These changes also serve to improve the custom and bulk offering available from Thermo Fisher Scientific, which sources a broad selection of bulk and semi-bulk chemicals that can be tailored to meet specific research and development needs.
