Alan Pilgrim has become chairman of Synexus, taking over from Professor Trevor Jones, who continues on the board as a director and becomes president of the Synexus’ Scientific Advisory Board.
Synexus, based in Manchester, UK, is a multinational organisation dedicated to the recruitment of patients and running of clinical trials at its own research centres.
Pilgrim recently retired as group chief executive of Europe’s largest diagnostic imaging services company Alliance Medical. Prior to this he was at Match Group and previously chief executive of Community Hospitals Group and group managing director of BNA, which is now called Nestor.
Jones has been chairman of Synexus since Lyceum Capital took the company private in 2007. Since then the firm has more than doubled its turnover and increased its research centres to 26 across nine countries.
Joens will now focus on the further development and running of the Synexus Scientific Advisory Boards, which are composed of leading specialists in the therapeutic areas where the Synexus model is particularly appropriate.
