Avantor Performance Materials makes appointments

Three executives take senior roles at US chemicals and materials firm

Avantor Performance Materials, formerly Mallinckrodt Baker, has appointed Sushil Mehta as executive vice president to lead Avantor’s global laboratory/clinical business. He will also manage the company’s Southeast Asia region. Mehta was previously managing director and ceo at RFCL Limited in India before Avantor acquired it in February.

Paul Smaltz has been promoted to executive vice president and will lead Avantor’s global pharmaceuticals business, as well as managing the company’s Americas region. Smaltz was formerly vice president of global marketing.

Brian Wilson has become executive vice president of operations. He takes responsibility for improving efficiencies in the company’s day-to-day operational activities throughout the global supply chain and will oversee all company operations. Before joining Avantor, Wilson was a senior consultant at Asset Performance Networks and a production leader in the Epoxy, Specialty Chemicals and Dow AgroScience businesses for Dow Chemical.
