Azelis and Marubeni agree pact to develop business in Asia

Azelis, a Pan-European distributor of specialist chemicals headquartered in Belgium, has announced a joint agreement with Marubeni, a Japanese provider of materials handling services in a broad range of sectors, to develop their businesses in Asia.

Initially the cooperation will focus on China.

Joris Coppye, chief executive of Azelis, said: ‘This partnership allows our principals unparalleled penetration into Asia’s growth markets, in particular in China.’

A spokesperson from Marubeni added: ‘We are confident that the combination of Marubeni’s 150 years of trading experience across Asia with the value added distribution business model of Europe’s leading specialist chemicals distributor will result in effective market expansion. Specifically, customers in Asia gain access to European specialist chemicals and the technical application support Azelis is renowned for in Europe.’

Azelis provides a diverse range of products and services to industries including chemicals, pharma and personal care.

Marubeni is involved in the handling of products and provision of services in a broad range of sectors.
