Beatson Clark will be showcasing its latest products on stand 512 at the easyFairs packaging exhibition on 24 -25 February at the Birmingham NEC.

As the largest event of its type in the UK, easyFairs is the must-attend exhibition for any company interested in environmentally responsible packaging, making it a natural platform for Beatson Clark to demonstrate their expertise and the environmental credentials of glass.

An exhibition focused on what is new, creative and innovative in packaging allows Beatson Clark to showcase its design capabilities in glass packaging.

For anyone serious about packaging that is environmentally friendly, glass is the natural choice. As one of the only materials that is infinitely recyclable, glass can be used repeatedly without degenerating, which is important when we are all facing the risks of man-made climate change.

Using recycled materials slows down the depletion of the Earth's natural resources while also saving energy in the manufacturing process. For every 10% of glass cullet, energy costs are reduced by 2% and 60-70% cullet can be used to manufacture flint glass and as much as 85% for amber.

Beatson Clark is also at the forefront of introducing the latest lightweighting technology and the company will be showcasing the latest packaging to have benefited from this process. Reducing the weight of a standard 500ml amber beer bottle by as much as 83g allows the style of packaging to be retained while reducing both manufacturing and transport costs - further protecting the environment and preserving resources.

'While our focus will be on the environmental performance of our products at easyFairs, we will also be demonstrating the advantages of glass as a packaging medium,' explained Beatson Clark marketing manager Dawn Pugh, 'while our latest lightweighetd beer bottles show off our environmental credentials.'
