Bottom entry for Silverson

Silverson Machines was showing its new Hygenic Bottom Entry mixers at Interphex. Typically used in conjunction with slow speed stirrer/scraper units for high viscosity products, Silverson demonstrated the additional advantages of using high shear bottom entry units on lower viscosity mixes, particularly where process hygiene is an issue.

Also on show were Silverson's range of ultra-hygienic in-line mixers, which were developed to meet the advanced CIP and SIP requirements demanded by today's pharmaceutical industries. They are designed to comply with FDA, 3A, GMP and EHEDG standards and to satisfy both current and future demands for the hygenic construction of process equipment.

The design of the ultra-high shear in-line mixer makes it impossible for any materials – liquid or solid – to pass from the inlet to the outlet without being subjected to intense mechanical or hydraulic shear as they pass through the workhead. The hygienic construction shortens the required CIP/SIP cycle time and minimises the use of cleaning chemicals. Manual cleaning and dismantling is not required, significantly reducing downtime.
