Will open in January 2013 and employ more than 100 people in Greater Manchester

Camfil Farr Air Pollution Control (APC), a global manufacturer of dust and fume collection equipment, plans to open a 3,716m2 facility in the UK to serve industrial customers throughout the UK and Europe.

Work is already underway for the new plant, which is located in the Birch Business Park, Heywood, Greater Manchester.

The facility is expected to open next January and when fully operational it will employ more than 100 people in engineering, metal fabrication, welding and assembly positions.

Rick Kreczmer, European sales director at Camfil Farr APC, said: “We are making a significant investment in the new UK manufacturing plant to allow us to service our European customer base more effectively.

“We will be able to supply products fast while still giving customers exactly what they require for their individual applications: quality dust collection equipment, fabricated to their needs and shipped on time.”

Company president Lee Morgan added: “Camfil Farr APC has grown into a global dust collection company over the past five years, with our most dramatic growth in the UK and European industrial markets.

“This strategically located facility will allow us to be more responsive to customer needs in Europe and to expand our manufacturing capacity to meet both short- and long-term goals.”

Camfil Farr APC’s dust collection equipment is typically used in laser and plasma cutting, thermal spray operations, welding, pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical and food processing, and fibreglass manufacturing.

Camfil Farr APC is part of air filter manufacturer Camfil Farr.
