Results from a pilot study carried out by Cargill Pharma to assess the performance of Zerose erythritol as an orally dispersible tablet (ODT) excipient for unpalatable active ingredients compared with mannitol showed that Zerose erythritol outperforms mannitol in the areas of dilution potential, disintegration profile and taste masking.
