Change in the executive management team of Gerhard Schubert GmbH

Gerald Schubert hands over responsibility to Marcel Kiessling

Gerhard Schubert will soon have a new member in the executive management team. Marcel Kiessling will assume responsibility as a Managing Director in the summer of 2017.

Gerald Schubert, who together with his brother Ralf Schubert and Commercial Director Peter Gabriel successfully leads Gerhard Schubert GmbH, will be passing on his functional area as Managing Director for Sales, Service and Marketing to Marcel Kiessling.

He will be withdrawing from the operational business in summer 2017 and will begin introducing Marcel Kiessling to his new areas of responsibility as of 1 November 2016.

For close to 30 years, Gerald Schubert actively contributed to the successful ongoing development of the market leader in digital TLM packaging machines from Crailsheim. He will remain in the company in an advisory function. As a shareholding partner, he will continue to support the Gerhard Schubert GmbH in strategic decisions.

'We want the company to remain owner-managed and family owned,' explain Gerald and Ralf Schubert. 'This is why the company's shareholding structure and orientation are not being changed.'

In the future, Ralf Schubert will continue to be responsible for the area of development, technology and assembly, as will be Peter Gabriel for the commercial area. Gerhard Schubert will also remain active as Managing Partner in the company.

In recent years, Schubert has also successfully established a young and very solid second-level management team. 'The entire Schubert Group is focused on growth. Together with Marcel Kiessling and our experienced management team, we are ideally positioned to continue on our successful course,' explains Ralf Schubert.

'The Schubert family and the executive management are delighted to have Marcel Kiessling join our team, as an internationally experienced, senior executive who will support the company in its further expansion. We are convinced that Mr Kiessling, with his outstanding management expertise, will successfully contribute to driving Schubert forward.'

In 2015, the entire group of companies achieved a new record with an increase in turnover to approximately €300 million. The number of employees is also growing steadily. The group currently employs 1100 people. With new technological developments in the primary packaging sector, such as the recently introduced Flowmodul, the company is looking forward to tapping into new market segments in the coming years.

Marcel Kiessling held various positions at the Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG for more than 25 years. From 2010 to 2014, he was responsible for the Service Division as a member of the Management Board and headed up the global Sales and Service organisation with a total of 4200 employees. Most recently he worked as a consultant.
